Numbers 16:46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.

Study All Of These Bible Verses On God’s Altar
God’s altar within the Bible is a very serious topic. God takes His altar seriously.
If you read through all of the verses above and surrounding Scripture in context within the Bible, you should begin to fear God and His altar.
The Bible never teaches that we should bring ourselves to the steps in a church building and bow down while the preacher stands up in front of you.
The Bible doesn’t say that you must come to an altar to be saved or to be forgiven of your sins.
An “altar” in churches today is NOTHING like God’s altar within the Bible so churches should stop calling their stairs, benches, chairs, or whatever else an “ALTAR.” This is a very serious offense against God’s actual altar.
Jesus Christ died for our sins. He is the altar and the sacrifice, and we should not minimize Jesus by using these “shows” that are termed “altar calls.” Evil men started the altar calls for their own gain, and we should reject these because they are not Biblical at all.
