|Bible Reading Schedule||Bible Reading Chapters Check Off Sheet|
Reading the Bible is one of the most important good works you can do for God. This increases your faith and has eternal significance. This good work will pass through the fire and earn you eternal rewards.
Reading your Bible is GREAT, but if you come and visit us you’ll LEARN what the Bible means as well. We teach directly from the Bible every sermon. We explain what the words, verses, chapters, and books of the Bible mean. We learn lessons directly from the Bible.
We do not take verses out of context. We do not pick and choose verses to make them say whatever we want them to say. Come visit us and learn your Bible better than ever before. Your faith will greatly increase.
Reading Your Bible
If you don’t have a Bible, come visit us and we’ll provide you with a King James Bible that you can call your own. I’ll even order you a Bible of your choice (regular print and smaller versus giant print and a larger Bible) and give that to you free.
Here’s what we recommend for Bible reading times:
4 Times Per Day
- At Breakfast (sit down and eat your breakfast and read the Bible)
- At Lunch (sit down and eat your lunch and read the Bible)
- At Dinner (sit down and eat dinner and read the Bible)
- Before Bed (read and pray before you go to sleep)
If you have family, have them sit down with you and read the Bible.
Recommended time for each Bible reading is 20 minutes each session. This will get your through the Bible about 5 to 6 times every year.
The goal is to read through the entire Bible once every 2 months. This is a great goal to achieve.
In one year, you’ll learn more than you ever imagined.
How to read the Bible:
- Open your Bible.
- Play the Bible audio and follow along.
This helps you to both see it and hear it. It works very well this way.
- I place a little dot by the Chapter number in my Bible every time I read through the Chapter in the Bible I am using.
- Use small writing to make notes in your Bible.
- I love wide margin note taking Bibles (Church Bible Publishers) so I have more room to add notes.
- Underline important things for you. This will be different for every person.
- Put stars and notes besides verses that help you understand something.
King James Bible Book Outlines
You should always have a good high level understanding of the Bible. This is why I love using Bible outlines.
The following outlines are from Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. I created a document with all of the outlines in an easy to print PDF.
Just right click on the link below, download, and save to your computer. When I printed my copy, I chose to print 2 pages per sheet, print both sides, and flip on short edge.
I keep this with me as my family and I read our Bibles together. It helps give an overview of where we are and what we’ve read in previous days.
If we have questions, we can find the Scripture we’re looking for much faster. And then we learn where specific Scripture is within the Bible at a much faster rate.
I personally use Swordsearcher for all the studies that I do for Sermons.
I highly, highly, highly recommend this software, and it includes the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge.
Here’s a pdf download of the complete Treasury of Scripture Knowledge:
I use the TSK for writing sermons, but I mainly use memory and Swordsearcher to find Bible verses to use within sermons. TSK proves to be very helpful at times. As always, you need to understand the context of every verse and chapter and that comes from reading your Bible.
